Nestled within six peaceful acres of countryside near Auchinleck, East Ayrshire, Fossilfield Training Centre is a family run not for profit organisation offering a unique equine enabled experience.
Since opening in 2021, we have been dedicated to supporting individuals of all ages and abilities to realise their full potential, whether in sport, wellbeing or personal development. Through innovative, nature based learning and the magical presence of our horses and ponies, we help build confidence, nurture emotional resilience and develop lifelong skills in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.
At Fossilfield, no prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to connect, grow and explore new opportunities.
At the heart of our work is a bespoke equine-facilitated programme that brings together therapeutic care, practical learning, and personal development. By working alongside rehabilitated racehorses in a calm, rural setting, learners build trust, resilience, and transferable skills in a way that traditional classrooms often can’t offer.
Our mission is to break down barriers to education and opportunity, especially for those who may struggle in mainstream environments or who have experienced trauma or emotional-based school non-attendance. We take a holistic, person-centred approach that allows each learner to progress at their own pace through carefully guided sessions.
We offer a range of SQA-approved programmes that cover everything from literacy and numeracy to leadership, employability, and equestrian training. Whether through 1:1 sessions, workshops, or out-of-school clubs, our goal is to equip individuals with the knowledge, mindset, and confidence to reconnect with their communities and realise their full potential.
Our team of accredited coaches, support staff, and therapy horses create a truly unique learning environment—one that is safe, inclusive, and grounded in empathy, structure, and trust.
